International Open Access Week 2016

When: October 24-30 2016

What: Open Access is the free, immediate, online availability of research articles coupled with the rights to use these articles fully in the digital environment. Come learn how to advance your research with Open Access.

Theme: The “Open in Action” theme highlights the researchers, librarians, students, and others who have made a commitment to working in the open and how that decision has benefited them—from researchers just starting their careers to those at the top of their field.

How does Dykes Library support OA? KU's One University Open Access (OA) Author Fund is designed to heighten the visibility and accessibility of the University's scholarship... please go here to view a list of KU/KUMC authors who have been  awarded KU One University OA funds.  Request OA Funding here.  Additionally, publication consultations through the Research and Learning Department and through the One University OA Fund team are available for researchers to identify high-quality open access journals to publish within and to navigate questions of copyright and authors' rights.

Highlighted OA Event: Please help us celebrate International Open Access Week with an event  on October 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at A.R. Dykes Library of the Health Sciences. Box lunches will be available for the first 50 guests after a brief program. Please bring your research and publishing questions.  Library professionals will be available for consultations on such topics as OA, publishing, copyright, author identifiers.  Enter your name in a drawing for an orchid plant after registering with ORCID. Assorted OA promotional materials will be available.
